Alpine 1600 S

Alpine started to become a legend when introducing the 1300 S version with its famous Gordini engine. But Alpine actually was a legendary with its triumph at Monte Carlo and winning the World Rallye Championship. The car that made this possible was the 1600 S, which appeared in 1971 for the first time. For competition use it was modified even up to a turbo charged version. The photo shows an original road car of the early serie with the well known Alpine blue colour, the typical French yellow head lights and optional fog lights. Have a look at the original Alpine monobloc alloy wheels. Real enthusiast equip their car with yellow bulbs for their lights because that was usual in France at that time.
