Amdée Godini at Le Mans
This photo shows engineer Amedée Gordini at Le Mans circuit in 1968. Gordini created some racing cars with SIMCA in post war times. He is father of the legendary Renault Gordini R8 engine as well as a special version of the Renault Dauphine. His engines always wear a red 'G' on the aluminium valve cover. Le Mans has been a favourite event in his life. He created the rare double cam 1300 engine as well as the V8 in later times. The Le Mans winning V6 and the Formula One first turbo-charged engines have their origin in the Gordini factory, too.
